"Hope for Children" World Carnival Day Cebu, Philippines 28th May 2011

REPORT BY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR VAL DOMINGO.

FusionExcel Cebu Philippines is one with the rest of the global family of FusionExcel International in celebrating World Carnival Day on May 28, 2011 through our Social Entrepreneurship platform and corporate social responsibility HOPE FOR CHILDREN. It was indeed a day of hope for the children we have chosen to be recipients of this goodwill from our company - children from the ethnic minority of the Badjao community. The Badjaos are popularly known as Sea Gypsies and are known to be the poorest of the poor in the society. FE Cebu Leaders believed that these children deserves a treat, even for a day.

Preparations for World Carnival Day-Cebu:

•FE Leaders Presidential Director Val and Catherine Domingo and Directors Vic and Ethel Canizares meet with Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Ms. Evelyn Macapobre for collaboration and link up to the Badjao community.

•Purchase and preparation of school bags to be given to the children in time for their class opening this June.

•Bidding for a caterer who will cook and pack the healthy meal to be given and fed to more than 250 children, parents and government staffs.

•Printing of more than 250 "Hope for Children" t-shirts to be given to the kids and volunteers to be worn on the event.

•Getting a clown who will give entertainment to the kids during the celebration of World Carnival Day.

•Handing of the gifts to the children who were very happy and thankful upon receiving their schoolbags filled with notebooks, pencils, pencil sharpener and eraser. The kids and their parents were very thankful that the generosity of FusionExcel International is an answered prayer to their challenge of getting funds for the school supplies of these children.

•Baranggay Councillor Edwill Banagbanag gave a speech of gratitude to FusionExcel International and the FE leaders who have brought joy to the lives of marginalized members of the society. He mentioned in his speech that the event was timely for the kids’ school opening in June.

•The event was covered by various media personnel from one of the biggest television networks in the Philippines - GMA7, from Cebu’s well-read newspaper SunStar, and Cebu’s local radio station with a wide following from listeners - DYRN.

It was indeed a noble achievement to be able to give HOPE, LOVE and HAPPINESS to these children who rarely enjoys even the most basic of their needs. We are thankful for the FE Leaders who have volunteered to render their service, support and love to these children during the World Carnival Day event in Cebu. They have momentarily set aside their roles as network and business builders and became servant-leaders for a day to the children who needs HOPE. FE Leaders who served and celebrated with the children were: Presidential Director Nimfa J. Alcordo, Presidential Director Beth and Lorenzo Sausa, Presidential Director Val and Catherine Domingo, Directors Vic and Ethel Canizares, FE couples Gloria and Teodorico Lim Jr., Roe Dalanon, Gina Batulan, Susan Sotes, Cherie Quisumbing, Richelle, Jeremias and Hedel, Madz Amaca, Ivy Lerias, Mona Sarnillo, George Bontia, Katherine Sausa, Raine Sausa, Daniela Sausa, Frieda Embati and other committed FE partners.
