Manila Charity Concert For Victims Of Typhoon Ondoy.

REPORT BY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR PASTOR ART MEDINA.

On 23rd October 2009, FusionExcel International sponsored a musical event entitled “Out of the Ordinary” at Teatrino, Greenhills in San Juan, Metro Manila. Celebrating his 39th birthday, Singer and FusionExcel Leader Allan Dale Alojipan decided to organize a fund raising concert for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng. Together with his friends from the theatre and music industry, it became an extraordinary evening. Having a variety of great Filipino talents the concert was very much appreciated knowing for a fact that the proceeds went straight to a noble cause.

After the unsettling brought about by the recent calamities, one was immediately lifted to an evening of musical delight. Allan Dale was able to collaborate with some of the country’s top performers namely, Singer-Actress & FusionExcel Endorser Pinky Marquez, Singing Champion Frenchie Dy, World-Renowned all male ensemble TUX, TV personalities and dancers Jason & Joshua Zamora of Manoeuvres , Soulful Jazz singers May Bayot and Elke Saison-Ortiz, Classical pop male quartet Angelos, Theatre mainstays Carla Guevara-Laforteza and Jenny Villegas, Recording Artist Joaquin Garcia, Power Singer Sam Velarde, Concert Guitarist Leo Nebrija, Comedians Iyah, Tsoknut and Teklah and the Dancing Statues Pilyoz.

From classical to pop, jazz and OPM, big band, acapella and even acoustic song numbers, the assortment of musical styles performed was enough to keep the audience interest high and wanting for more. Not to mention the hilarious comedic act and the funny gimmicks of the male dance group.

FusionExcel’s participation headed by Pastor Art Medina was very timely and made it even more noteworthy. Because of FusionExcel’s unique social entrepreneurship platform, Allan Dale donate the total collection of PHP 54,102.50 ($1,200) for one of FusionExcel’s projects, the installation of free “scalarized” water refilling stations in the typhoon affected areas particularly the Marikina community where Allan Dale resides nearby.

“Out of the Ordinary” Concert became extraordinary indeed because of the fusion of talents brought about by everyone’s desire to help our less fortunate brethren especially in times of trials and difficulties. As we raise the awareness for social entrepreneurship, it is in the hope that more cause-oriented events such as this will be realized in the future!
