Rebuilding Lives in the City of Ruins

SPECIAL REPORT FROM PD PASTOR ARTHUR MEDINA
“Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” – Isaiah 58:12

The appeal to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy was met with spontaneous generosity from FE family. A total of P3 million (RM222,000) was instantly gathered and turned over to 2 main stewards of funds namely, GMA7 Foundation with P1M(RM74,074) and Oplan Rebuilding Lives with P2M (RM148,148). Highlights of Oplan Rebuilding Lives in the City of Ruins: We immediately formed a team of Rebuilders composed of Project Coordinator Pastor Art Medina – FE Presidential Director, Mr. Art Tuason – PD and Boy Scout of the Philippines Board Member, Ms. Cory Quirino- health-guru and Rotary Club International Dist 3830Ms. Litay Brunner-Charter President, Rotary Club Rockwell Makati, Ms. Pinky Marquez – singer, stage and movie actress, Ms. Maite Defensor – PNCC and Defensor Foundations, Mr. Jerome Vinarao – Center for Arts Foundation, Rev. Clem Guillermo – Back to the Bible Broadcasters, Rev. Steve Mirpuri – Ayude for a New Day Philippines, and PD Pastor Dave Trinidad – Sampaloc Bible Church.

The team saw the huge needs of the people in severely affected areas and came out with two-pronged strategy in maximizing the use of donated funds to benefit the suffering people ;

1. Distribute bagfuls of basic goodies (canned sardines, noodles, blankets, sandals, medicines, clothes, anti-bacterial soap etc.)

2. Install Purified Drinking Water Stations to affected communities with flood-contaminated water supply. On Monday, 5 October, we launched the project Oplan Tubig ng Buhay (Supply of Water of Life) with a Press Conference, which was covered by national government TV station NBN4, Channel 9, IBC 13, GMA7 and ABS-CBN. Oplan FE Rebuilding Lives will be installing 14 Water Stations to communities that were highly affected by Ondoy. As a counterpart, the steward beneficiary organization will be responsible in providing the required minimum of 2x3 meter area with housing structure, electric supply and water supply.
Commercial cost of each water station is P250,000 - P300,000 (RM22,000) when fully turned-over. But when we shared to the suppliers of 16-stage water purification system the social entrepreneurship cause of this initiative, that is, to provide free, ample, clean and safe water supply to the affected communities, they gave us a huge discount! That’s why we can install up to 14 Oplan Tubig ng Buhay water stations with scalar energy in as many severely affected communities of Marikina, Pasig, Cainta, Quezon City, Taguig, Pateros, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela and Manila. Fusion Excel International will continue to help the underprivileged children and their families in rebuilding back their lives through Hope for Children Program.

Boy Scouts of The Philippines.

Disaster relief, community service, first aid administration, and even life-saving, are areas the Boy Scouts of the Philippines have always figured in throughout its history. “..to help other people at all times..”: This is, in fact, embodied in our Scout Oath, and “helpful” is likewise part of the Scout Law. In the heart of every Boy Scout therefore is always the willingness and the readiness to lend a helping hand especially when emergencies happen. In the recent floods brought about by Typhoon Ondoy, the Boy Scouts were there, not necessarily in uniform, but were a presence in nearly every locality where help was needed. And this continues on…
“Oplan Tubig ng Buhay” is one of projects that the Boy Scouts of the Philippines is proud to be a part of as it is exactly one endeavor that is close to all Scouts --- Community Service. Our congratulations and gratitude to Fusion Excel International for this NOBLE humanitarian initiative. May God bless you more as you continue to bless people!

Rotary Club International
For us in the Rotary Club International District 3830 and the Clubs of Makati-Legaspi and Makati-Rockwell, the initiative of Fusion Excel's "Oplan Tubig ng Buhay" is the best relief and rehabilitation program we have encountered. It does not only help people affected by the Typhoon Ondoy on a one-time basis but on a long-term rehabilitation that rebuilds lost hopes and dreams of people that were highly devastated. This is what Rotary Club International salutes Fusion Excel for; it is a clear example of "service above self". We hope that the efforts initiated by Fusion Excel International through its Hope for Children program will continue to reach out and help those in need. We at Rotary, will encourage our members to support the same efforts Fusion Excel is doing. Mabuhay ang Oplan Tubig ng Buhay!

Center For Arts Foundation.

One of the best things we at the Center for Arts is known for, is our commitment to reach out to children in most need of help. We give scholarships to children in the field of performing arts and other related arts because we believe that education and talent enhancement is the key to the children's wholistic development. But when faced with a natural calamity, children are the most highly affected and we at the Center for Arts feel the intensity of its effect on our members. That is why, Oplan Tubig ng Buhay, through Hope for Children, is a timely response to the needs of our children. The water stations, using scalar technology of Fusion Excel International is indeed a blessing. Thanks to Pastor Art Medina and the generous sponsors, network leaders and Mr. Paul Ting (CEO) and Mr. K.S. Lee (Co-Founder). The help Fusion Excel has given will always be remembered.

Back to the Bible Broadcaster.

The Bible says in Acts 20:35 “Remember the words of the Lord - ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’.” Indeed, Fusion Excel International is living out compassion as one of their core values by spearheading the rescue, relief and rehab operations for the Typhoon victims and we at Back to the Bible are excited partners in this endeavour. The Lord will doubly reward your company as you continue to touch hearts and lives in your Social Entrepreneurship Program. We are very much grateful for being considered as a worthy partner and may God richly bless Fusion Excel International
