REPORT BY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR RICKY LIM.

Together with the entire nation of India, FusionExcel celebrated

1.The 113th Birthday of Mr. PANDITH SUDHAKAR CHATURVEDI, who is India’s Oldest Living Person.

2.The 34th Birthday of the late MAJOR SANDEEP UNNIKRISHNAN, one of the most Loved and Respected Patriotic Hero of India.

On 14th March 2011, FusionExcel celebrated the 113th Birthday of Pandith Sudhakar Chaturvedi who is India’s oldest living person, just a year short of holding the Guinness world record. While many young bloods surrender to age-related ailments, here is a 113-year-old "Taatha" (meaning grandfather), who is still going strong and who wishes to live for another 200 years! We felt truly blessed to be with Taatha, a man who has lived for 3 generations. Pandith was a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. He participated in the Jallianwallah Bagh protests and was arrested at least 31 times during the freedom struggle.

This birthday celebration was held at the Karnataka Lokayukta Office, which is Karnataka State’s Anti-Corruption Agency. FusionExcel is honoured to sponsor a wheel chair to Pandith, which was presented to him by his Honourable Justice N. Santosh Hegdeji, who is the Commissioner of Lokayukta. Justice Santosh in his speech said his department has imprisoned many people for corruption and yet Pandith went to prison 31 times not for corruption but for freedom struggle! What a special man!

The following day, 15th March 2011, FusionExcel celebrated the 34th birthday of the late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, one of the most well respected, liked and celebrated national patriotic hero of India who was killed in an encounter with terrorists’ attacks in Mumbai on 28th November 2008.

During the birthday celebration, there was live music by the IDL Blind Band and sumptuous food was served. Many visitors and school children came to pay their respect to the late Major Sandeep. Birthday cakes were cut and other goodies were distributed to the children to celebrate this memorable occasion.

Mr. Unnikrishnan and Mrs. Dhanalakshmi, parents of the late Major Sandeep, were very touched that so many people celebrated their son’s birthday. Indeed the late Major Sandeep has left a legacy to the people of India to fight for: Justice, Honour and Country.

Both birthday celebrations had nationwide media coverage sending a strong message to India to uphold the principles of Justice, Honour, Integrity, Respect, Patriotism and Freedom, which is also in line with FusionExcel’s core principles of Integrity, Competency and Compassion.

Thank you FusionExcel for supporting these Special Occasions! There is a hero in all of us. Another Social Entrepreneurship Program by FusionExcel.
