REPORT BY MAGGIE LOO, FUSIONEXCEL AMBASSADOR FOR “HOPE FOR CHILDREN”.

“Hope For New Year”, a Chinese New Year program to be aired over Astro TV – Channel 304 on the second day of The Chinese New Year in 2010 is another FusionExcel’s “Hope For Children” project to bring joy to children’s homes.

There are 2 groups of Personalities who are supporting this program. The first group consists of Beauty Queens, which include Maggie Loo (Miss Malaysia/Universe 1973 and Ambassador for “Hope For Children”), Joannabel Ng (Miss Malaysia/Universe 2009), Nancie Foo (Miss Malaysia/International 1978) and Jolene Tan (Miss Astro 2004). The second group consists of Celebrities like Angeline Tan (Veteran Actress), Louisa Chong (Veteran Actress), Ng Siew Meng (Actor) and Michael Poh (Image Maker).

The Beauty Queens were assigned to Rumah Kids, Subang Jaya while the Celebrities’ group was assigned to Sunbeam Home, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. They all went with a generous heart bearing gifts, food and donations and the readiness to share love and to provide a helping hand to spruce up the homes in preparation for the coming New Year.

The Activities Carried Out Include The Following:
1) Helping to spruce up the homes and decorate them with a Chinese New Year feel.
2) Giving new hair-cuts to the children (done by Michael Poh and his team of hair stylists).
3) Having fun making “Kueh Kapet” (“Love Letters” cookies).
4) Spending time and having fellowship with the children with singing and enjoying Chinese
New Year delicacies.

To make the event more fun and interesting, a “competition” was organized to encourage the 2 groups to hype up their performance in terms of the decoration of the homes and producing the best “kueh kapet”. FusionExcel sponsored prizes.

A segment was included for Maggie Loo to talk about FusionExcel's “Hope For Children” objectives and mission in providing aid to the less fortunate and underprivileged children.
